David Wilson (violinist)

David Wilson (September 22, 1945 - ) is an American-born violinist and recording artist, known for his stylized arrangements of popular music and original compositions.
Wilson began his professional recording career in 1987, performing nightly in Beverly Hills, California. Here he performed for Hollywood celebrities and political figures. Tina Sinatra took note of Wilson's music and recommended him to perform at a private event attended by Henry Mancini. Upon hearing the David, Mancini invited him to be featured soloist on his film score for the 1990 Blake Edwards film "Switch". The following year, Mancini featured Wilson's improvisations on the RCA album "As Time Goes By."
Following his collaborations with Mancini, Wilson recorded his own solo album "There's a Small Hotel" in 1997. Working with producer Benedikt Brydern, he recorded a collection of songs from the American songbook and popular European classics.
He was soon signed as an artist with Swallowtail Records, a division of Mill City Music in Minneapolis, Minnesota who released this debut album. Wilson's relationship with the record company continued through next decade releasing seven more successful recordings.
These include:
"The Romance of Paris" (1998)

"Dreams of Hollywood Nights" (1999)

"The Romance of Christmas" (1999)

"Cafe Europa" (2000)

"Easy To Love" (2002)

"Romance After Hours" (2005)

"Boulevard of Dreams" (2003, compilation)
Wilson has continued to collaborate with producer Benedikt Brydern . Since 2004, they have created two albums released on Brydern's own label, ConSordino.
Their first release "Elegancia" (2004) features Wilson's interpretations of well known Latin favorites. "Elegancia" was followed up with "Nobody Does It Better" - Love Songs of Our Generation (2008)" which features love songs from the 1960's and 1970's.
As of November 20013, Wilson and Brydern have released "The Crossing" - an album devoted to David's original compositions.
David Wilson currently resides in Los Angeles where he continues to perform throughout Southern California.
